Done almost exclusively in Corel Painter. Maybe 20% Photoshop for finishing or masking. Time: About 4 Days.
Looking back i think the composition lacks strong shapes.

Great job. The scene looks fantastic. I like the ice troopers and the big artilery. Well done! :D

I couldn't help but notice how the hamsters are wearing German and British helmets from World War I.
It immediately reminded me of that infamous moment during the war when the soldiers stopped fighting and bonded with one another on Christmas day.

Great, evocative concept.

You are right. The piece is moody and looks very charming overall, but both the composition and 'what's going on' are a bit challenging to read. There are still some shapes I find hard to identify (might also be due to the small size of the file given the amount of detail), and also some of the bluish bounce light in the rocks feels slightly strong under the cloudy conditions.

However, it's a very good work, so keep moving forward, because you have a promising gallery going on here. Keep it up, and kudos! :)

Abolutely awesome painting^^
Only comment is kind of like you already said yourself I think, the focalpoint/people are a little to far away so it's hard to find out what they are in the first 10 seconds. (would be better if it was bigger maybe?(a):D)

Looks very dark and foreboding. Could image this as a part of illustration for a novel or as a scene in a film piece.

I'm not seeing the problem with this piece not having strong shapes. It's been my experience that paintings of rain/raining often convey softer shapes and haze to the painting, giving the subject matter a blurred/blurry and dream-like quality.

You convey this well when seen in the full sized picture

This is pretty damn good! I tried using Corel Painter. Well, let's just say this would put anything I've made to shame! :P Great Job :D
